When late payment fees and encumbrances are administered

Why did I get a late payment fee and encumbrance?

You received a late payment fee and were encumbered if you failed to make full payment of your account by the due date. The due date for payment is listed on your electronic Statement of Account (eSOA) for each unit. An encumbrance will prevent you from:

  • Obtain any documentation from Student Administration
  • Viewing results
  • Re-enrolling
  • Graduating

If your course fees remain unpaid beyond a certain date (for domestic students this date is the census date for the relevant teaching period), and if deferral through the taxation system is not an option for you, you will have your unit(s) enrolment cancelled.
