Alternative assessment

What is an Alternative Assessment?

Alternative assessments are treated as a form of special consideration and are granted in limited circumstances.

An alternative assessment may be granted by the Faculty in consultation with the Unit Coordinator and only apply in cases where you are unable to continue an exam you are sitting (during a formal University exam) due to mitigating circumstances substantiated by appropriate documentation.

Where an alternative assessment is granted the grade recorded on your academic transcript is a Passed Alternative (PA) or Failed Alternative (FA). Both results do not affect the WAM or GPA calculation.
