Counsellor support for your special consideration request

Can the counsellor support my request for special consideration?

Where appropriate your counsellor can support a request for special consideration. In recognition that unexpected events can seriously interrupt your studies during the year, your counsellor may be able to help you clarify and/or seek variations to your assessment schedule.

If you are seeking Special Consideration you must first speak with your faculty and discuss the type of special consideration you might be eligible to apply for. They will provide you with a special consideration form. You must fill in the form and bring it to your counselling session. The counsellor cannot support your application for Special Consideration until you have talked to the faculty and filled out the form.

You will often need to provide evidence to support the reasons explained in your Special Consideration application.

Please note that special consideration cannot be supported during the triage session but it will be considered as a factor when allocating your subsequent appointment time or suggesting other services that may be able to assist you.

You can find out more information on UWA’s special consideration policy on the University Policies website.
