Request a book on loan

If a book I want is out on loan, can I request it?

You can request a book on loan! To request items that other borrowers have out on loan log into OneSearch using your Pheme credentials.

  • Search for the item you want to borrow.
  • Select the 'Not available - click for more details' link beneath the title information for that item.
  • Select 'Request item'.
  • Select Library Pickup location.
  • Select 'Send Request'.
  • A note will appear: "Request placed. You can monitor or cancel your request in your My Library Account."

As soon as you place a request the item will be due back from the current borrower in 7 days (or 10 days if the current borrower is in a regional area or offshore). You will be notified by email when your book is ready for pickup and you can check its progress in My Library Account. A requested item is held for you in the library for 4 days before it is either returned to the main collection or notification is sent to the next requestor.
