Benefits of taking part in a Commerce Study Session

How can the Commerce Study Sessions help me?

The Commerce Study Sessions offered by the Business School is a program run by fully trained senior students and open to anyone enrolled in the units where sessions are offered.

Each semester the Business School runs sessions for:

Undergraduate

  • ACCT1101
  • ECON1101
  • ECON1102
  • ECON1111
  • FINA1221
  • STAT1520

Postgraduate

  • ACCT5432
  • FINA5432
  • MGMT5504
  • ECON5541

The Commerce Study Sessions emphasise collaborative learning, where students work together to take an active approach to their learning. Studies have shown that students who regularly attend these sessions achieve better marks, are less likely to fail and have a stronger ground-up understanding of the unit material.

These informal drop-in sessions are held weekly. Sessions run for one hour with trained senior student leaders who facilitate the study sessions with small groups of students. If you are taking units outside of the Business School, the PAL program is also available.
