Failing a unit

What do I do if I have failed a unit?

You may be eligible for supplementary assessment but it depends on the unit you failed. You should check the unit description in the Faculty Handbook and the unit Assessment Mechanism Statement to see if supplementary assessment is available.

Supplementary assessment will not be available unless you have a mark of 45 to 49 inclusive for the unit. If the unit is the final unit that you must pass in order to complete a bachelor's pass degree (and it's your final semester) and you have obtained a mark of 45 to 49 inclusive for it, you will normally be offered an opportunity for supplementary assessment.

For further information on supplementary assessment see University Policies or contact your Faculty Adviser who can give you information about what you should do.

If you have been granted a supplementary exam the grade of SG will show on studentConnect when you check your results. You should contact your Faculty Adviser for details of your particular examination.
