Year 12 requirements for studying Engineering at UWA
What is the minimum requirements for entry to UWA to study Engineering Science for Australian Students if I'm completing Year 12?
The minimum pre-requisites to study the Engineering Science major at UWA requires you to have an overall ATAR of 80 and scaled scores of 50 plus the following ATAR courses.
Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE)
- A scaled score of 50 or above in Mathematics Methods ATAR
- A scaled score of 50 or above in Physics ATAR
- A scaled score of 50 or above in Chemistry ATAR
- A scaled score of 50 or above in Mathematics Specialist ATAR
If you have only a scaled score of 50 or more in Mathematics Methods ATAR you can still be admitted but will have to take bridging units.
If you do not have a scaled score of 50 or more in Mathematics Specialist ATAR, Physics ATAR, and Chemistry ATAR or equivalent and wish to undertake a second major, this may extend the duration of the degree beyond the minimum 3 years. Further information about the Direct Pathway to the Master of Professional Engineering is available online. Consult the online Study Guides for examples of study plans for students who do not meet all the pre-requisites upon entry.
All students wishing to enter UWA must also satisfy the University's English Language Competence requirements.
