How do I find and read ebooks from the library?

Use OneSearch to access a wide range of ebooks to support your study and research.

When a book is available as an ebook, it will say Available Online in OneSearch. To read it, select a link under Click link below for full text. You may be asked to sign in with your UniID.

Ebooks appear alongside other resources in OneSearch. If you want to show only ebooks in your search results:

  1. Select All Filters at the top of your search results.
  2. In the Modify my results panel that appears, check both:
    • Availability > Available Online
    • Resource Type > Book.
  3. Select Apply Filters.

You can read ebooks online both on and off campus. For most ebooks, you can also download:

  • individual PDF chapters, which do not expire
  • the full ebook, which will expire after a certain time.

Some ebooks limit how many:

  • people can read them at the same time
  • chapters you can download
  • pages you can copy and paste from
  • pages you can print out.

A selection of ebooks is also available to graduates through our Online resources for alumni.

As our ebooks come from different providers, they can each work a bit differently. For more information about using ebooks at UWA, visit the Ebooks Library Guide.
