You can enter the 20-week course with:

  • IELTS 5.5 with no band score below 5.0 (higher requirements apply to students bound for some UWA degrees)
  • TOEFL iBT 52 with a minimum score of 14 in the speaking and writing sections and 9 in the listening and reading sections
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) overall score of 50 with no individual score below 42
  • Versant English Placement Test (VEPT) score of 6164 out of 80, or a score of 65-70 out of 90 
  • Duolingo score between 100 and 110 (no subscore below 85)
  • WA Certificate of Education EALD Stage 3 (English as an Additional Language/Dialect) overall scaled mark of 35 - 39.9 
  • UWA CELT Language and Communication Essentials upper-intermediate with a minimum of 70% (no individual skill below 60%)
  • UWA CELT English for Academic Purposes with a minimum of 60% (no individual skill below 55%)

 

You can enter the 10-week course with:

  • IELTS 6.0 with no band score below 5.5 (higher requirements apply to students bound for some UWA degrees)
  • TOEFL iBT 68 with a minimum score of 17 in the speaking and writing sections, 13 in the listening and reading sections 
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) overall score of 60 with no individual score below 50
  • Versant English Placement Test (VEPT) score of 65-70 out of 80, or a score of 71-74 out of 90
  • Duolingo score between 115 and 125 (no subscore below 100)
  • WA Certificate of Education EALD Stage 3 (English as an Additional Language/Dialect) overall scaled mark of 40 - 49.9 
  • UWA CELT Language and Communication Essentials pre-advanced with a minimum of 70% (no individual skill below 60%)
  • UWA CELT English for Academic Purposes with a minimum of 65% (no individual skill below 60%)
