Meeting other postgraduate students

Are there any programs where I can meet other postgraduate students?

UniMentor can link you with a senior student from your study area as a mentor and give you the opportunity to meet other new students. Your mentor is assigned a small group of new students from the same study area, so it's a great way to start building your networks at UWA. Your mentor can answer questions and provide advice about settling into campus life, studying at UWA, and living in Perth if you are an international student. Your mentor is available to support you throughout your transition to postgraduate study at UWA. If you haven't yet received a mentor and would like one, you can contact the Transition Services team via Email Us function on this website and selecting 'Mentoring and Volunteering' from the drop down list,.

As a postgraduate student, you can join the Language and Cultural Exchange (LACE). LACE provides opportunities to meet people from many different countries and cultures and is a great way to get to know others on campus and to learn more about the University. LACE runs regular social events for members, so email us to be added to our mailing list and get involved.

The UWA Student Guild has many clubs and societies that you can join. The Postgraduate Student Association (PSA) is the representative body for postgraduate students at UWA and runs professional and social events throughout the year.  Keep an eye out for the PSA newsletter to stay informed about what is on offer for postgrads.

The Postgraduate Coursework web page also contains lots of useful information for coursework students and for postgraduate research students there is the Graduate Research School.
