Blackboard Collaborate Ultra Explained

What is Blackboard Collaborate with the Ultra experience user interface?

Collaborate Ultra is a live web conferencing tool available in all units in the LMS that allows for online communication with others in a closed learning and teaching environment. As a result, the main way of accessing a Collaborate Ultra session is through your LMS unit.  All potential users will need to authenticate and only those enrolled in the unit will be able to access the session link.  In your enrolled units, your instructors might use it to:

  • Conduct lectures, workshops, or meetings.
  • Share content such as documents, desktop applications, web tours, and files.
  • Allow for interaction through polls, quizzes, Q&As and text chat.
  • Record live sessions for later playback.
The Unit Coordinator can also generate a "guest link" for participants not enrolled in the unit.  Contact the Unit Coordinator if this is something you may need.
