The Summer Residence is an orientation residence for BPhil students held for a week in February before the start of university classes. The Residence is free and students will be provided with accommodation and meals. You will learn about the BPhil degree, the nature of research, and spend time getting to know your fellow BPhil students. Detailed information about the Residence will be sent to you before the Residence begins.

Attending the Summer Residence is compulsory for all students enrolled in the Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) degree and the combined degrees: Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) and Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours)/Bachelor of Modern Languages. Transfer students are also required to attend the Summer Residence.
