I haven't graduated yet
If your award has not been conferred (graduated), then update your name on your student record before applications to graduate close:
  • If your name is spelt incorrectly, or part of your name needs to be added, deleted, or changed: please send a full colour scan copy of your original Proof of Citizenship document (Current Passport/ Birth Certificate/ Citizenship Certificate) showing your full legal name, and if you have changed your name, please send a full colour scan copy of a Change of Name Certificate or marriage certificate via Email Us
  • If a marriage certificate is supplied, it must be supplied alongside one of the Proof of Citizenship documents listed above.
  • If a change of name certificate is supplied, it must be supplied alongside one of the above-listed Proof of Citizenship documents.
  • If your name is missing accents: send an email to the Graduations Team via Email Us confirming how your name should appear with accents and Proof of Citizenship documents showing the accents. Your name will only appear on your certificate with accents. This may not reflect on your studentConnect.
  • If your name has incorrect capitalisation, spacing, or hyphens: send an email to the Graduations Team via Email Us confirming how your name should appear, and Proof of Citizenship documents showing the capitalisation/ spacing/ hyphens.
It's important to take action as soon as possible. Once your award has been conferred, your name can only be changed under limited circumstances, any changes to your name require Senate Approval. This process may take a few months, and there is a cost incurred to replace your testamur. If you have any questions about how your name is displayed, or you are concerned you will not be able to submit your documents on time, contact the Graduations Team for advice via Email Us.
