Careers Centre advice on choosing majors

Can the Careers Centre advise me on which units to choose for my majors?

The Careers Centre cannot tell you which majors to choose but we will be able to help you explore your interests, strengths, goals, and values in order to make decisions that align with your personal and professional aspirations.

Depending on technical knowledge or professional accreditation requirements, many employers will select students on the basis of their degree rather than their specific majors. By doing a major you enjoy and can achieve in, you will have more time to develop your skills and experience by undertaking part-time jobs, internships, voluntary work and/or community involvement.

Career advisers will often use labour market insights to provide students with relevant and up-to-date information about various careers options, industries, and job trends.

If you want specific information on unit choices within your degree, please refer to UWA Handbook or visit your Student Advising Office.
