Food and drink in the Library

Can I eat and drink in the Library?

Some drinks and food are permitted in the Library.

Covered coffee, covered drinks and snacks like chocolate, nuts and muesli bars can be consumed at study desks.

Meals which require a fork or a napkin, including anything messy, smelly or noisy (such as packaged chips/crisps) are permitted only in the cafés and café terraces in the Reid Library and Barry J Marshall Library. All drinks should be covered, and alcohol is not permitted in the Library. No food or drink is permitted in Special Collections, Reid Library.

Library users will appreciate the need to keep the library clean and comfortable for others. General and recycling bins can be found in all libraries and cleaning products are available from library staff if required.

For more information refer to Study Zones and the Library Rules.
