Each UWA Library has a 24 Hour Loan Collection of material that has been identified by Unit Coordinators as essential readings for UWA units. The 24 Hour Loan Collection has different borrowing conditions to main collection items.
- 24 Hour Loan Collections are located on the ground floor of each library, near the Information Desk.
- The loan period for all 24 Hour Loan Collection items is 24 hours.
- Reminder notices regarding 24 Hour Loan Collection loan due dates/times are sent via email (to your student email address) AND via SMS if you have provided a mobile phone number to the University. You can opt out of SMS notices by replying STOP, but you cannot opt out of email notices.
- A maximum of two 24 Hour Loan Collection items can be borrowed by a library user at one time.
- To allow equitable access to the 24 Hour Loan Collection, there is a 2 hour wait period between returning a loan and borrowing the same title again.
- 24 hour Loan Collection items must be returned to the library where the item was borrowed.
- You are required to borrow and return 24 Hour Loan Collection items by using self-check machines. This ensures you are aware of the due time, and you can personally confirm the item has been removed from your borrowing record when returned.
- Do not return 24 Hour Loan Collection items through a returns chute during library staffed hours as delays in processing may result in overdue fines.
- Bookings and requests are not available for 24 Hour Loan Collection items.
- Fines apply for the late return of 24 Hour Loan Collection loans - for details see borrowing conditions.
