Each Library has a High Demand collection of material that has been identified by Unit Coordinators as essential readings for UWA units. The High Demand collection has different borrowing conditions to Main Collection items.
  • High Demand collections are located on the ground floor of each library, near the Information Desk.
  • The loan period for all High Demand items is three hours. Loans can be renewed an unlimited number of times to a maximum of six hours.
  • Reminder notices regarding High Demand due date/time are sent via email (to your student email address) AND via SMS if you have provided a mobile phone number to the University. You can opt out of SMS notices by replying STOP, but you cannot opt out of email notices.
  • A maximum of two High Demand items can be borrowed by a library user at one time.
  • High Demand items can be borrowed overnight Monday to Friday if borrowed after 4:30pm.  Please check your receipt for due times.  Please see Library staff regarding weekend overnight loans.
  • High Demand items borrowed overnight cannot be renewed after return the following morning.
  • High Demand items should be returned to the library where the item was borrowed.
  • You are required to borrow and return High Demand items by using the self-check machines. This ensures you are aware of the due time, and you can personally confirm the item has been removed from your borrowing record when returned, so you don't accrue any fines.
  • Do not return High Demand items through a returns chute during library opening hours as delays in processing may result in overdue fines.
  • Bookings and requests are not available for High Demand items.
