What to do if your Australian Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to COVID-19

I was meant to get my citizenship before the semester 1, 2020 census date but my Australian Citizenship Ceremony was postponed due to COVID-19. Can I still use HECS-HELP/FEE-HELP?

You must be an Australian Citizen at the census date in order to be eligible for a HELP loan for that period. If you do not become a citizen by this date, you will need to pay your tuition fees upfront.

Request for an Urgent Australian Citizenship Ceremony
The Department of Home Affairs has advised that, where a student has had their scheduled citizenship ceremony cancelled due to COVID-19, assistance will be provided, where possible, to schedule a urgent ceremony for them.

Western Australian students who have been affected can fill out a Request for an Urgent Citizenship Ceremony form (attached), and email it to the Department of Home Affairs.
