Information on Student Visa Application Fee Waiver due to COVID-19 (Form 1545)

Do I meet the criteria to receive the Fee Waiver Form 1545?

If you held a student visa on or after 1 Feb 2020 and you couldn't complete your course within your original visa validity, due to the impacts of COVID-19, you may be eligible for the visa application fee waived. This will occur when you lodge a further student visa application to complete your study.

This include students who:

  • Deferred their study as they were unable to enter Australia due to travel restrictions
  • Deferred their study as the Education Provider unable to deliver the course due to COVID-19
  • Were forced to reduce to a part-time study load. This means that you cannot receive the form if the reduced study load or leave was voluntary. The form only applies when a course that is normally offered was not offered by UWA because of COVID-19 meaning that you could not study full-time in that semester and were forced to reduce your study load.
  • Were unable to complete their work-based training and /or placements
The Visa Application Fee Waiver Form 1545 will not be completed by UWA for students who are applying for a new student visa due to ordinary reasons such as failed a course, or a unit of study, deferred for personal reasons or voluntarily reduced your study load.

Download the online Form 1545 and send the completed form to your Student Advising Office.
