​An academic staff member who has grounds to suspect a breach in academic integrity as per the Academic Integrity Policy will offer a student the right to attend an academic integrity interview to discuss the suspected breach. All student conduct matters are managed in line with the University Policy on Academic Integrity and the University Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct.

An academic integrity interview allows the staff member and the student to discuss any evidence that has already been provided, and any additional/alternative (and supported) evidence the student provides. The academic staff member can also consider aggravating circumstances (such as prior proven incidents on academic misconduct) and mitigating circumstances (such as level of experience or significant personal circumstances).

Where the concern relates to an online exam or test, the staff member may include an oral interview with the student for the related online exam or test. An oral interview is not a new exam or test. It's an opportunity for you to demonstrate your knowledge based on materials covered in the unit, while ensuring the academic integrity of our university examinations
