An academic staff member who has grounds to suspect a breach in academic integrity as per the Academic Integrity Policy (the Policy) will offer a student the right to attend an academic integrity interview to discuss the suspected breach. All student conduct matters are managed in line with the University Policy on Academic Integrity and the Regulations for student conduct and discipline (the Regulations).
An academic integrity interview allows the staff member and the student to discuss any evidence that has already been provided, and any additional/alternative (and supported) evidence the student provides. The academic staff member can also consider aggravating circumstances (such as prior proven incidents on academic misconduct) and mitigating circumstances (such as level of experience or significant personal circumstances).
Where the concern relates to an online exam or test, the staff member may include an oral interview with the student for the related online exam or test.
