How do I cite and reference ChatGPT and other generative AI tools I've used with permission in my assessments?

Permitted uses of AI tools to complete assessments varies from unit to unit and assessment to assessment.  

In the first instance, check your Unit Outline and/or Assessment Instructions for information on AI use in the unit assessment.  

If not stated in these documents ask the Unit Coordinator for guidance on which UWA AI-Use Tier :  1, 2 or 3  can be used.

You must reference all AI generated content you use in your assessments. You may be requested to show which AI tools you used for your assessment and the prompts you used to produce your work.  

Check your unit outline to confirm which of the 6 UWA supported referencing styles should be used.
