A Research End User (REU) means an individual, group or organisation that will directly use or directly benefit from th eoutput, outcome or results of research created in collaboration with a HDR student enrolled at UWA.
Examples of REU's include:

• Co-operative Research Centres and their industry partners, businesses, governments, non-government organisations, communities and community organisations in Australia or Overseas. They may also be collectively referred to as industry, or a host or partner organisation.
• Your employer is a REU, and the R&D activities as part of your studies is with your employer.
• UWA affiliate organisations where the entity is only connected to UWA through external co-supervisory or co-funding arrangements, or has entered into a written agreement with UWA about research internships undertaken by students at UWA. 

• UWA and other higher education providers.
• UWA's affiliates (when the entity is formally or functionally integrated into UWA's core academic, clinical or research operations), controlled entities or subsidiaries, including Medical Research Institutes or Centres.
• Equivalents (international or domestic) of the above exclusions.
