A Research End User (REU) means a business, government or not-for-profit. It can be an individual, group or organisation that will directly use or directly benefit from the output, outcome or results of research created in collaboration with a HDR student enrolled at UWA
Examples of REU's include:

  • Your employer is a REU, and the R&D activities related to your studies is with your employer.
  • UWA affiliate organisations where the entity is only connected to UWA through external co-supervisory or co-funding arrangements, or has entered into a written agreement with UWA about research internships undertaken by students at UWA.
What does not count as a REU?
  • Any university (or higher education provider).
  • UWA's affiliates (when the entity is formally or functionally integrated into UWA's core academic, clinical or research operations), controlled entities or subsidiaries, including Medical Research Institutes or Centres.
