Enrolled doctoral students at UWA can self-source an advertised research internship or create a bespoke research internship with a research end-user (REU) organisation within Australia or overseas.
- Discuss your intentions to do a research internship with your supervisor early in candidature and explore their industry connections for a research internship with a REU.

- You can create a bespoke research internship with REU's through your network. Extend your network by attending professional development events & online forums, discuss with your supervisor, and connect with career mentors and professionals in your field of interest.
- Consider R&D projects that may be available with a host organisation such as your employer, or industry connections arising through Industry Transformation Training Centres, Cooperative Research Centres, Australian Research Council, industry-funded scholarships and data agreements and research agreements. Refer to examples and the types of R&D activities in planning your research internship.
