Plan for your research internship with a REU organisation  within the first 18 months of candidature (or 36 months if part time). Refer to steps to prepare for a research internship.

 

The best time to think about planning for a research internship is when your prepare your Research Proposal or achieve this milestone. Check if your internship involves travelling and/or ethics approval, and allow additional time to obtain approval.

Normally you can commence an approved research internship anytime once your Confirmation of Candidature is approved by the Graduate Research School and all milestones are met. All research internship agreements must be approved by the Graduate Research School.
