Students own the copyright in their thesis and the IP that they create, unless they agree in writing to assign IP to others (Intellectual Property Policy).

 

Students invited to participate in research collaborations are subject to the policies and contractual obligations of that research activity which may require as a condition of participation, confidentiality undertakings and assignment of IP rights.

 

Where a specific contribution of funds, resources, facilities, or apparatus administered by the University, which is designated for the purpose of creating IP is made available to you, then agreement must be reached with you as the recipient of those resources as to the ownership of any resulting IP and that agreement must be in writing.
