UWA Library provides access to many journal articles, ebooks and databases for UWA staff and students to use in teaching, learning and research. To ensure you can access these resources off campus, please try one of these options:

  1. Use OneSearch. Search for the database, article or ebook you need in OneSearch, and Sign In to OneSearch with your Uni ID details.
  2. Add the LibKey Nomad browser extension (in Chrome or Firefox) to access full text PDFs when browsing databases. Select University of Western Australia when prompted. If full text is available via UWA, a Download PDF button will pop up.
  3. Select the OpenAthens Institutional Login option available on many publisher websites:
    1. Look for a login link
    2. Select Institutional Login
    3. Search for University of Western Australia. If there are multiple options, choose the one that says OpenAthens
    4. Enter your Uni ID details if prompted.
    5. Confirm you are connected to the UWA subscription by looking for a statement at the top of the site such as 'Access provided by University of Western Australia Library'
  4. If you are using Google Scholar, set up UWA full text access by going to Settings > Library Links > select University of Western Australia Library – Find it @UWA. When searching Google Scholar, click Find It@UWA for direct access to PDFs.

If you are using a UWA-managed device with the UWA Always-On VPN, you will not be automatically signed in to UWA Library subscriptions. Please use the options above to ensure you can access subscription-only content when working off campus.

If you have bookmarked links direct to your most-used databases (eg; www.proquest.com), we recommend replacing these with links to the database in OneSearch instead (eg; ProQuest Central), which will ensure you can access the UWA subscription.
