The Master of Information Technology (62510) program will introduce specialisations in 2025. Please see below FAQs:

Q: Can I study both Artificial Intelligence and Software Systems specialisations in the MIT program?
A: Yes. New students commencing in 2025 will have space to complete both programs. Continuing students may be able to add both specialisations in 2025 depending on what units they have already completed, and room remaining in their degree.
Q: I completed a unit that is no longer in the MIT, will it still count?
A: Yes. Students who commenced the MIT prior to 2025, can complete any unit that was offered in the MIT when they were enrolled in the course.
Q: Can you do the MIT without a specialisation?
A: Students commencing in 2025 onwards must select at least one specialisations. Current students can complete the MIT under the current rules (without a specialisation).

2024 and 2025 study plans and comparison table are available in the UWA Handbook, on the MIT course page.
Current MIT students will receive an email regarding an upcoming information session.
