LAWS5158 Mediation Practice and Skills introduces students to the theory, practice, principles and skills of facilitative mediation. The overall objectives are to train students to the standard required for National Mediation Accreditation (NMAS). The unit is conducted using lectures and experiential exercises to embed the course content into practice.

How to apply:

Due to the interactive nature of the unit, there are limited places available. All students seeking to enrol in LAWS5158 Mediation Practice and Skills must complete the Expression of Interest Form during the EOI submission period.

Please be aware that you cannot enrol in the unit until your Expression of Interest is accepted. The EOIs will be reviewed by the Law School Committee.

Key dates:

Submission period for Expression of Interest

9am Tuesday, 12 November to 5pm Friday, 29 November
Please note EOIs cannot be accepted after Friday, 29 November

Notification of placements

At the latest by 20 December 2024.

Students who submit their EOIs, but are not offered a place in the first round of enrolments, will remain on the waitlist. A second round of enrolment will be offered in end of April 2025 if further places become available.
