Work Integrated Learning (WIL) is an educational strategy that combines classroom learning with practical, real-world work experiences. This approach aims to close the gap between theoretical knowledge acquired in academic settings and the practical skills required in professional environments.

At UWA, WIL also refers to a specific suite of units in which students can undertake an industry internship relevant to their study, alongside academic assessments, for academic credit. Most students are eligible to complete at least one WIL unit as an option or elective unit as part of their coursework degree.

Students must check their course structure and study plan with their Student Advising Office (SAO) to confirm if they are able to include a WIL unit in their course.
