Before applying for a WIL internship, we expect students to consider the most appropriate time for them to complete an internship and any prior commitments. A student may email a request to the WIL Team to not go on placement during certain dates. However, the WIL Team cannot guarantee that they will be able to meet this request. During the application and interview process, dates are outlined and negotiated between a student and their host organisation. Once approved and enrolled, you must complete the internship hours previously agreed upon, unless there are extenuating circumstances. Students who are unable to complete their placement will have to discontinue the WIL unit and may delay their course progression, as it could be difficult to secure alternative placements. Students should discuss any prior commitments with their host organisation prior to commencing their placement hours.
