Transferring to a new Integrated Professional Degree

How do I transfer from my current comprehensive degree to a new Integrated Professional Degree?

Step 1: make a video

As part of your application to an Integrated Professional degree, we’d like you to prepare a short video essay responding to the question: “Which global challenge do you plan to address with your UWA degree, and how do you plan to make a difference?”

Your video should be:

  • No longer than three minutes
  • Hosted on any platform that allows link sharing, such as YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, or Dropbox. Please ensure the link is accessible without a login.
  • Focussed on the answer, not the video quality. You don’t need professional equipment - a smartphone or webcam is fine (we’re interested in your ideas rather than production quality!)
  • Structured: introduce yourself, explain the global challenge you’ve chosen and why it matters to you, and outline how your UWA degree will help you make an impact.

Once you have prepared your short video essay, complete the transfer application steps below and share the link alongside the other information required in the application.

Step 2: submit your application

  1.  Log on to studentConnect
  2. On studentConnect select 'Apply for a course' under the 'My useful links' menu on the right.
This will take you to the UWA Application portal.
  3. Select the 'Login' button on the top right and logon with your UWA student ID number and Uni ID password. Type in your Uni ID password and do not use the auto-fill.
  4. Select 'New Application' on the dashboard.
  5. Select 'Transfer' under 'Applicant Type'.
  6. Under ‘Course selection’, type in the course code or course title and select from the dropdown.
    • BW001 Bachelor of Arts (Integrated Professional)
    • BW002 Bachelor of Commerce (Integrated Professional)
    • BW004 Bachelor of Science (Integrated Professional)
  7. Under ‘Course details – additional questions’, add your video essay link in the ‘video essay response’ text box
  8. Complete the rest of the required information and submit. You should receive a confirmation message, advising your application was successfully submitted.

Troubleshooting

  • Make sure you're logging in with your student email rather than a personal email account.
If you logon with a personal email account, the system will not recognise you as a current UWA student and the 'Transfer' applicant type will not be available.
  • Try ‘clearing the cache’ of your internet browser.
For example, these are the instructions for Google Chrome.
  • Try 'forgetting' any passwords saved for UWA Apply.
  • Try a different internet browser or device.

More information about undergraduate transfers (including application dates and processing times) is available on the Current Students website under 'How to transfer to a new course' - 'I'm a Bachelor's Degree Student'.
