Obtaining a copy of a UWA thesis

How do I find and access UWA theses?

UWA Library holds print copies of UWA Masters and Doctoral (PhD) theses. They are not for loan but may be consulted within the Reid Library. To find a particular print thesis you will need to sign into OneSearch and then search for the thesis. If you are not after a specific thesis but want to see theses from a particular Faculty, School or Discipline simply search OneSearch using the name of the Faculty/School/Discipline and the word thesis.

Once you have found a thesis that you are interested in reading check the full record display to see the available request options. If you are unable to sign in to OneSearch (eg. you are a member of the public) you will need to complete a Store Request Form.

Online versions of these same theses are also often available. To find these search the UWA Research Repository.

Honours dissertations and Masters by coursework are not usually held by the University Library either in print or online, but may be held by the relevant UWA School. Please contact the appropriate UWA School for more information. Exceptions to this are History Honours theses and Law Honours theses. Many of these theses are held in print at UWA Library. They can be located using OneSearch.

Libraries, Institutions and individuals outside UWA may purchase copies of UWA Theses for research purposes. The Document Delivery staff will copy entire Theses on request for a fee:

  • $137.50 (GST inclusive) within Australia
  • $130 for overseas

Theses are supplied as PDFs via a secure download link.

All purchase requests require a Thesis Request Form to be submitted. Payment must be made in advance.
