Meeting the maths prerequisite for studies in the Business School

Can I study a Bachelor of Commerce if I don't currently meet the maths prerequisite?

You can study a Bachelor of Commerce if you don't currently meet the maths prerequisite.

The minimum maths required for the Bachelor of Commerce is Mathematics Applications, MAT2C/D or equivalent. If you do not have this prerequisite, you can enrol in MATH1720 - as a part of your Bachelor of Commerce course. Check with the Business School Student Centre to determine what the most suitable course of action is for you.

If you are a non school leaver applicant you should also consider whether you are eligible for entry via the Mature Age Access Program.

Most Commerce majors are available for students to undertake as a second major in one of the university's other undergraduate degrees, without a maths prerequisite.

Note: if you are entering the course with a lower level of maths than Mathematics Methods or MAT3A/B (or equivalent) you may be required to include the unit ECON1111 Quantitative Methods for Business and Economics within your course.
