Six preferences are recommended as some universities only offer a limited number of exchange places. Alternatives may also be required as we're not always able to offer your first preference. We encourage you to broaden your horizons and consider other destinations and universities, especially in countries where English is not the primary language, as many universities teach in English or have some units available in English. In your research for a suitable institution it's important to find a university that offers sufficient units to make up for a full load. Only list preferences that you're prepared to go to. Preferences are considered in the order they are listed.
Be sure to think through and research your preferences carefully - if you're allocated to a preference you cannot attend due to poor research at the time of the application, it may not be possible to match you to an alternate exchange destination.
