The costs you will incur as an exchange student are as follows:
Living Expenses
The cost of living while on exchange will depend largely upon your destination and personal expenses. However, we estimate it costs approximately AUS$15,000 per semester to go on exchange.
Students participating in the student exchange program will be expected to pay for their own:
- Accommodation and daily living expenses
- Books and other materials
- Travel expenses
- Passport and visa costs
- Any additional insurance cover. The University provides free travel insurance to all UWA students while overseas on a recognised exchange program. However, this policy is not accepted by some of our overseas exchange partners and it may be necessary for you to take additional health cover at the host institution. If you are planning to travel outside of your host university region, or before or after your official semester dates, you will have to arrange alternative travel and health insurance coverage.
- Any other incidental costs
Tuition Fees
Students studying on an approved student exchange do not pay tuition fees to their host university. You will continue to pay your student contribution or international student fees per normal as if you were studying at the UWA campus. You will be billed per semester from UWA and any money owed is payable to UWA.
Be aware that you are subject to the same conditions and deadlines for payment as those that normally apply for study as if you were at UWA. Therefore you must ensure that you meet the UWA and/or Commonwealth Government payment deadlines as appropriate.
Financial Aid
Financial aid for students on exchange may be available through a variety of scholarships, grants, or loans.
