Attendance at a graduation ceremony

Do I have to attend a graduation ceremony?

You do not have to attend a graduation ceremony. However, you do need to apply to graduate using the application form in studentConnect in order to graduate and receive your award certificate.

When you apply to graduate in studentConnect you will have two options:

  1. Receive your certificate at a Graduation Ceremony, held in Winthrop Hall on the Crawley campus in Perth; or
  2. Graduate in absentia at a ceremony or at one of the Senate Conferral Dates without you being present and have your certificate mailed to you.

If you do not apply to graduate within two years of completing your course your award will be conferred automatically in accordance with University rules.

Note:  Please be aware that once your award has been conferred in absentia it is not possible for you to attend a future graduation ceremony to receive that award.
