The GCRL2000 research unit is a zero point unit in which Bachelor of Philosophy (Hons) students conduct a Research Placement with a UWA researcher or research group in an area related to their major. The GCRL2000 research unit is compulsory if you are a BPhil student and it is a requirement for graduation. Staff will help students find a placement and an appropriate supervisor.

GCRL2000 must be completed before students start their BPhil Honours year.

This requirement also applies to students enrolled in the following combined degrees:
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours)
  • Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) and Bachelor of Modern Languages

GCRL2000 is compulsory for all students but should not be confused with the foundation unit GCRL1000 which is optional for transfer students.
