Some units require you to have prior knowledge in order to undertake that particular unit. This prior knowledge is known as a ‘Pre-requisite’.
Pre-requisites are required because the unit is built on a base level of knowledge that is expected to have been acquired. For example, FREN1402 French Studies 2 requires you to have completed FREN1401 French Studies 1.
If a unit has a pre-requisite then it will be listed in the ‘Unit Rules’ in the online UWA Handbook entry for each unit. If you need advice on pre-requisites then contact a student adviser from your assigned Student Advising Office displayed on your studentConnect.
