Applicant Tracking System (ATS) is a computer software designed to scan resumes/CV for certain keywords and weed out the ones that do not match the job description.

It's important to tailor your resume/CV and cover letter to each position you apply for. As an example, one position may require strong 'communication and interpersonal skills' meanwhile another position may require excellent 'written and verbal communication skills'. Although these phrases have similar meanings, it is important to repeat the same keywords provided in the job advertisement in your resume/cv, in case ATS is used.
