What is a bridging unit?

Bridging units are designed for students who have not met the relevant ATAR level (or equivalent qualification) required as pre-requisites for their major. This means if you did not complete the required subject at ATAR level (or equivalent), you can take additional bridging units, as part of your major, to meet this requirement.

For example, if you have not completed Maths Methods at ATAR level and wish to enrol in a number of mathematically based majors, you are required to complete MATH1721 to substitute for ATAR Maths Methods.
