At some host universities it is not possible to study units from different departments or faculties whilst on exchange. This is often due to timetabling constraints or program restrictions at your host university i.e. you must take a majority of units from one study area. These restrictions will be listed on the Global Studio Brochures. You will need to plan your exchange carefully so that all units completed on exchange count towards your UWA degree. It may be possible to focus on one of your majors at UWA in the semester preceding your exchange and then focus on one major at the host university. This can be discussed with your Student Advising Office

You also need to be aware that some host universities place quota restrictions on their units, which may prevent your enrolment in some units that your Student Advising Office has approved for you to take. If this situation arises you will need to explore alternative options.

Once you have been allocated to a specific host university, your Student Advising Office will formally approve your study plan, indicating which units from what majors you will take.
